St. Barts Welcomes Dr. Titterington

On October 3rd 2010. parishioners at St. Barts were out in full force to join Dr. Lee Titterington and his wife Reverend Susan Titterington for our Sunday Eucharist.

The Sunday school children brought a banner (developed by Carol Bailey –New member Ministry) decorated with hand prints of the congregation in an array of colours as a symbol of’ ‘helping hands’ to their new minister “Lee’. Lynn Doyle the leader of the Children’s Ministry delivered a sterling commentary articulating our joy, praise and thankfulness to God in securing Dr Lee as our Minister.

Dr. Titterington was born in Calgary received his Divinity degree from University of British Columbia. He holds professional expertise in Social work (MSW) has extensive experience in Theology and Conflict resolution,

Dr Lee was installed November 21st 2010 by Bishop Don Phillips.

His wife Susan gave the homily. Referencing the Theme of the 100th Synod of Rupert’s Land “Making paths in the Desert”; she reminded us that our journey as a congregation with Interim leader Donna Joy enabled exploration of our faith and was a productive effort. In these discussions we defined our purpose to

Embrace, encourage and empower people in their faith journey and to discern and participate in Gods work in the world.”

Both she and Lee were amazed and humbled by the gift a collage of helping hands now ensconced on the Upper hall wall.

It certainly represented our commitment to walk with our new Minister and his wife as we fulfill our vision “Reaching Forward to what lies ahead “(Phili.3.13)

Other clergy in attendance were Archdeacon Jennifer Sisson, Rev Barbara Shumka, Rev Mary Lysecki. Rev Geoff Woodcroft and Pastor Stacy from our neighboring Lutheran Church.
